If you are intrigued, curious, wondering what it is all about, come along. Death Café is a simple open conversation space where talking about dying, death and life is welcomed. None of us are getting out of this alive, let’s explore together, bring your curiosity, and your sense of humour. There is no agenda, objectives or themes, it is a simple open and spontaneous conversation on dying, death and living. Underpinning everything is the simple fact that death is a part of life. It is natural and it is ok to talk about it.
The first Tauranga Death Café was held by Grace McGregor and Carole Spice during The Delightful Festival of Body & Sound 2016. The group has grown over the last 12 months, with regular meetings held at Grindz Café. Recently Tauranga Death café hosted a one off screening of the movie Zen and the Art of Dying which with 84 seats sold, was a sold out screening!
The Tauranga death Café also featured at the Voices of the Sacred Earth Festival 2017 at Kawai Purapura in March 2017.
